FAQs

+ Covid requirements:

Vaccination/negative antigen test (24hrs) or recovery proof. Please do not come to the studio with flu symptoms.

+ Do I have to know the sequence to join the classes?

Not at all, that’s why we are here for you. We recommend for the complete beginners to attend to one of our 4 weeks beginners course before coming to Mysore classes, but if your decision is to start directly in Mysore, we will be happy to guide you through it. Mysore beginners time: everyday from Monday to Friday from 6:30-9:30.

+ What do I need to start my practice?

We ask the students to have patience to learn the Ashtanga Method, there isn’t anything to achieve more than feeling good while and after doing it. Come to the studio 10 minutes before the practice so you can change and leave everything in the changing room.

+ When should I not practice?

We recommend at least one resting day per week as your body needs to recover. In Casa Ashtanga we take a rest on Sunday. When you feel any kind of pain, please approach the teacher and make him/her know about it to see if there is any modification you can do before stoping the practice. In the tradition of Ashtanga Yoga, women who are in the first days of menstruation, should take an extra day off. In case you are feeling well enough to attend the class, try to avoid invertions. You can talk to the teacher for some posture modifications.

+ How regularly should I come to practice?

The Ashtanga method is made to be practiced six days a week. Five of them Mysore and one Led class. As this is a practice for yourself, practice what you think is best for you.

+ What should and shouldn’t I bring to the studio?

We kindly recommend to all our students to take a shower before the practice, as we believe your mat is a sacred place. As the students can use the yoga mats we have here, please bring a little towel that will help you for some postures as well as for sweating. We don’t use special clothes for the practice, so wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Please do not use perfume, essential oils, aftershave, jewellery or watches that can disturb your or other students practice. It is very important to come with an empty belly as we will be working with our internal organs. Please come motivated and decided to work hard.

+ How should I pay?

We accept cash and transactions. Please find our membership options in prices. Whenever you find yourself in the situation of not being able to pay for multiple reasons, please approach the teacher, we don’t want anybody to not practice due of financial difficulties.
